On the 2006-07 New York State tests, KIPP STAR eighth graders outperformed eighth graders city-wide and in the district where KIPP STAR is located in both English/Language Arts and Math.

One of the keys to KIPP’s success has been our desire to constantly improve what we do to help the KIPPsters. To that end, the national KIPP Foundation, with funding from the Atlantic Philanthropies, has engaged Mathematica Policy Research to conduct a five-year study of how KIPP affects middle school students’ achievement and whether KIPP students are on a path to college matriculation and completion.
